Fall Appeal 2018

Fall Appeal 2018

All that we are and all that we have, has been given to us by God in trust to use for the advancement of God’s kingdom. This video message from Michael Helms encourages us, as disciples of Jesus Christ, to be good stewards of all of God’s gifts, to use them in ways that will honor and glorify God.

What Our Co-Chairs are Saying About Stewardship

Throughout the past year, the Stewardship Committee has fostered a culture of comprehensive stewardship in the church. We have been reminded — all we are and all that we have has been given to us by God in trust to use for the advancement of God’s kingdom. God owns all of it — every second of our lives, every spiritual gift, and all of our financial resources — in other words, our time, talent, and treasure. Our calling as disciples of Jesus Christ is to be good stewards of all of God’s gifts, to use them in ways that will honor and glorify God.

As we look forward to our discipleship in 2018, we invite you to consider your response to God, in prayerful gratitude for God’s generous love and grace in your life. The Fall Appeal 2018 booklet contains an invitation from the leaders of our congregation and descriptions of our many ministries. Under each ministry is a list of volunteer opportunities through which you can express the spiritual gifts that God has entrusted to your stewardship. The 2018 Commitment Card provides separate sections in which to record your commitments of time, talent, and treasure. There are instructions to help you complete the card. The Proportional Giving Worksheet will assist you in calculating your commitment of treasure. Note that the Commitment Cards sent by mail include a perforated section that are designed to ensure that your financial commitment is handled separately and confidentially.

You may return your Commitment Card by mail to the church, in person at the church office, or by placing it in the offering plate on any Sunday through Consecration Sunday, November 12. All of the cards received to that point will be consecrated at one of the altars. After Consecration Sunday, teams of volunteers will begin calling on those who have not yet returned a card.

Please prayerfully consider ways in which you can deepen your discipleship commitments of time, talent, and treasure as a member of the Body of Christ in this place. God has richly blessed each of us. It is a privilege to return to God, as an expression of our gratitude, a portion of that which God has entrusted to our care.

Yours faithfully,
Robert J. Howell, Jr. – Senior Pastor
