Emily Lynch Cupelli
Contemporary Worship Leader

Sing to him, sing praise to him; tell of all his wonderful acts. (Psalm 105:2)

God designed each of us to be instruments of praise so we could sing and make music. The truth is, some are more gifted musically than others! Join us in issuing a warm welcome to our new Contemporary Worship Leader, the musically-gifted Emily Lynch Cupelli. In addition to joining the staff, Emily and her husband Matt have recently joined BSUMC. Emily has been singing and writing songs professionally for over a decade, sharing her original music, and leading worship for many church events and conferences throughout the southeast. Some of her favorite influential artists include Patty Griffin, Sheryl Crow, Vince Gill, Alison Krauss, Dolly Parton, and Bonnie Raitt. We are delighted that she is sharing her gifts and talents with our church.

Emily and Matt are Clemson University grads and die-hard Tigers fans. Emily was recruited to Clemson on an athletic scholarship, competed on the rowing team (2005 ACC champs!) and graduated in 2008 with a degree in Communication Studies. She and Matt still attend all of the Clemson home football games.

Since 2012, Emily and Matt have made Greenville their home. They have a 5-pound Maltipoo pup named Peanut, who considers Emily and Matt his people, but in November, Peanut will have to share their attention when Emily and Matt welcome their first child.
One of Emily’s favorite places is Edisto Beach, which she considers a home away from home, but she and Matt also enjoy traveling farther afield. In 2015, they visited Italy and Greece – a bucket list memory for sure! When asked what her favorite Bible verse was she mentioned Galatians 6:9. “So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up”.

Emily and Matt, welcome! We are delighted you have made BSUMC your church home.
