A large church in downtown Greenville, SC, Buncombe Street United Methodist Church has remained committed to scriptural holiness since her beginnings in 1834. Through an offering of wonderful programs of mission and outreach BSUMC works to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ. Children's LibraryVolunteers are needed to work in the Children’s Library on Sundays from 9:45 to 11:15 AM. Contact Jennifer Dow in the church office at 232-7341 for more information.

Compass ClasAre you a newcomer to BSUMC? The Compass Class begins Sunday, September 12, at 10:00 AM in Room 203. This eight-week class is for folks new to the church so, if you’re new, we’ll have a whole room full of people just like you!

Music & Arts

A Choral Evensong, a service of candlelight, prayers, music, and scriptures, will be held in Memorial Chapel on Sunday, September 26, at 7:00 PM. Childcare will be provided with advance reservations. To make childcare arrangements, contact Jennifer Dow in the church office at 232-7341 or by email.

Church PicnicThe Annual Church Picnic will be held on October 10 at Butler Springs Park at 12:30 PM. Tickets are available in the church lobby.

Bike RaceNext Sunday, September 19, the USA Cycling Pro Championships will be held in downtown Greenville. Please note there will be no street parking.
 
Location and Parking

Parking Lots (Click to view a parking map) The parking lot on Buncombe Street (directly across from the main steps to the sanctuary) is available to BSUMC members at all times. The Richardson Street lot is used for monthly subscribers during weekday business hours. Please, do not park in the Lacher’s Jewelers` lot before 7:00 PM Monday through Saturday. The church parking lot on College Street is closest to the Reid entrance and is reserved during all worship services for the handicapped and adults over age 80.

Auto Decals — BSUMC parking decals are available from the receptionist at the front office. Place the decal on the car's rear windshield.
