On Easter Sunday, April 1, you are encouraged to participate in the Flowering of the Easter Cross. The flowered cross is a beautiful reminder each year that the bleak season of Lent has given way to the joyous news of Christ’s resurrection. With every flower placed on the cross, we are reminded that we worship a living, loving God. So as you prepare for Easter worship, please take a few minutes to pick fresh flowers or cut flowering branches from your garden or yard and bring them with you to the church. Or, if flowers are scarce this year, pick up a fresh bouquet of spring flowers from one of the many stores that sell them. Either before or after the service, take your flowers to the cross, which will be set up in front of the Sanctuary, near the corner of Buncombe and Richardson Streets. If you take a picture in front of the cross, please take a minute to e-mail it to us. We’d love to see it and share it with the church family. Let’s keep this lovely tradition alive at Buncombe Street!
