Small Group Ministry

Join a small group at Buncombe Street UMC and be part of something big. From the time of Jesus Christ to today, small groups have helped to change lives and help the church grow. A small group provides closeness of a well knitted community who come together for study, to enjoy Christian fellowship, to serve within and outside the church, and to grow in faith.

BSUMC has several small group opportunities. Explore the following, and complete the adjacent form to ask David Stubbs questions or if would like additional information.

Survivors is a group of singles and single parents who meet to study and discuss how the Bible speaks to them in their singleness and in their lives of parenting. The group meets weekly at the church (Conference Room off office lobby) at 10:00 AM. This group offers a great place to connect and, occasionally, really good food!

Resurrection small group is a series of short, video driven, studies about the scriptures and life. Usually the studies last 4 to 6 weeks and are open to anyone who would like to come. The small group meets every Sunday at 10:00 AM in Room 225A (upstairs above gym).

Alpha Bible Study is a great basic study of Christianity that meets off site. We have classes at YMCA locations that meet on Sundays at 4:00 PM. For locations, check the bulletin or newsletter.

Directions is a new gathering for college age and young professionals. We meet each Sunday at 10:00 AM in Room 221A. For more info, contact Frances Minor.

The West Side Posse – This small group is made up of people who live in the Easley, Piedmont, or Powdersville areas. The group meets monthly on the second Monday of each month at Fatz’s in Easley for fellowship, a meal, and short discussion. Reach out to David Stubbs in the church office if you would like to add your name and email address in order to receive future emails about this group.

Monday Night Bible Study – This study group meets weekly on Mondays for 6 to 8 week periods at the church from 6:30 PM until 8:00 PM. Consult the bulletin, website, or newsletter for more information.

Women Circles – This is a small group offering for study and fellowship. Circles provide a way to connect with other women of the church for a time of study and service. The groups meet monthly at various times. Learn more about the Circles on the Women’s Ministry page.

Wednesdays is family night!  Click here for more information.

For Women Only – The church offers numerous small group opportunities just for women.  Join a small group of women on Thursdays for a short devotion and time of study. Childcare is provided on Thursdays. Click this link for available class information.
